The Secret of Keeping Your Gluten Free Lipstick ON – Red Apple Lipstick

You’re going about your business of the day, working, talking to your coworkers and eating lunch, etc., and somewhere in the middle of it all nature calls. As you leave the bathroom, out of pure habit you briefly check your reflection in the mirror- and stop. Your lipstick is sliding off the edges of your lips, giving you a sloppy and disheveled appearance. The first thing that goes through your mind is, “Oh gosh… How long has that been going on?”

Solution? Red Apple Lipstick’s new Lip liner.

I’ve been waiting for this to come out forevuh and am so excited about it.

So far, Red Apple Lipstick has always hit the ball out of the park and I’m delighted to say that their lip pencils do not disappoint. Their stellar track record is still untarnished.

First off, the pencils are exactly the same color as the pictures show them (RAL is particularly good about that). All three are beautiful shades of fairly neutral colors that will work for every-gal. I’m having a hard time choosing my favorite!

Next, the texture is amazing. When buying lip pencils, you always run that risk of getting one too dry and crumbly, or too wet and slippery. RAL’s pencils are the perfect texture. Super super easy to apply; smooth and with excellent precision. For the first few moments, it easily wipes away with a q-tip if you make a mistake, but quickly settles into a smudge-proof defense against lipstick slipping. I wore my lipstick all day long and never had a single smudge (said day included eating barbeque 😯 ). Plus, when I woke up the next morning, I found I still had lip liner on. Haha! But don’t worry, it does come off easily with a warm washcloth: I was just too tired to mess with it too much the night before. 😉

All in all, this lip liner totally lived up to the high standards set by Red Apple Lipstick. I am super excited to have this in my makeup bag and to be able to share it with y’all. 😀

Tested and proven crazy awesome gluten free lip liner. Go check it out, y’all! You’ll thank yourself again and again. 😉

For Whoever Wants to Buy Gluten Free Makeup in Stores – Gabriel Cosmetics

Where is it!? I dug frantically through my makeup bag as the buildings outside the car flew past. “I could have sworn I packed it. It’s not here!”

“What’s not there?”

“Mascara! I forgot mascara!”

If I didn’t need gluten free makeup, this event would be nothing. All I’d have to do is waltz into the nearest drugstore, snag a new mascara and skip back out. Problem solved.

But I do need gluten free makeup. And I can’t just grab any ‘ol mascara.

“Where am I gonna find gluten free mascara!?”

Emergency or not, there are hundreds of situations where you would rather buy what you need in a store.

  • You want a see a color first hand
  • You dislike shopping online
  • You’re worried about summer heat melting something shipped to you
  • You want to take a shopping trip with your girlfriends
  • Etc., etc., etc.,

There are very few companies that have this option. But the one I’m reviewing today does.

Gabriel Cosmetics has 5 lines:

  • Gabriel Color
  • ZuZu Luxe
  • Gabriel Organics
  • Clean Kids Naturally
  • Nail Collection

Today, I’m reviewing products from the Gabriel Color and ZuZu Luxe lines, along with one from the Nail Collection. Both of the makeup lines are certified gluten free by the Gluten Intolerance Group! The main difference between the lines is their color selection. Gabriel Color has brighter, more modern shades. ZuZu Luxe tends more towards classic, more laid back shades.

These are the products I got to try:

  • ZuZu Luxe Shades of Nude lip palette
  • Gabriel Color Classic Palette – Platinum
  • ZuZu Luxe Mascara – Oynx
  • Gabriel Color Lipstick – Meritage
  • Gabriel Nail Polish – Fauno

ZuZu Luxe Shades of Nude Lip Palette

Shades of NudeWith four different nude colors and an included lip brush, this palette covers the bases for a wide variety of skin tones. The colors are too dark for very fair skin, but work well for light, medium and dark skin. Whether you’re cool, neutral or warm, there’s a color here for you.

This is actually the first time I’ve ever played with a lip palette. But since I’ve already played with applying lipstick with a brush, it was second nature to use the palette. The texture of the products is waxy, with only a tiny bit of moisturizing built into them. It’s not drying, but it’s not going to replenish your dry lips either. This texture reduces feathering and smearing, as well as improving wear time. Since it’s not a tube of lipstick to toss in your purse, it’s a good thing this lipstick is long-lasting.

The color payoff is decent, but if your lips are already highly pigmented, expect to get a true mixture of your lip color and the product color. Of course, since these are all meant to look nude, this works out well.

Gabriel Color Classic Palette – Platinum

Featuring eyeshadows, blush and finishing powder, this palette puts together half the color you need for a complete look. The shadows are a combination of warm and cool tones, while the blush is neutral enough that it should work on most skin tones. The finishing powder has no color whatsoever, and seems a slightly random addition to the palette.

The shadows are attractive, neutral colors. Decently pigmented, easy to wear and blendable, they tend a little towards being chalky. If your lids are normal, they apply well and wear reasonably on their own. However, if your lids are very oily, they will crease badly. Always wear eyeshadow base if you have oily lids. The colors are lovely though and make a wonderful neutral eye.

The blush is beautifully pigmented and blends well. Creamier than the eyeshadows, it gives a delicate wash of color that works well for a variety of skin tones.

Despite the odd addition of the finishing powder, it’s actually an excellent product. Without adding chalkiness, it leaves a smooth, matte finish. This product is an excellent way to polish off your look.

ZuZu Luxe Mascara – Oynx

If you’ve read my gluten free mascara feature post, you already know a bit about this already. You know it’s affordable, as well as being one of the easiest mascaras to find in stores. But what you don’t know are the details on how it works.

This mascara is a true black color. The thickening is acceptable, but where the mascara really shines is in adding length. Of all the mascaras I’ve tried, ZuZu Luxe’s mascara adds the most length.

With average wear, this mascara does not flake or smear too badly. However, if the environment is wet, or your eyes are watering continually, any hard blinks will leave a healthy smear under your eyes. It’s easy enough to wipe off, but if you’re going to be sneezing all day, or will be near lots of water, this mascara will have issues. But again, it does stand up to average wear just fine.

Also, with their natural and gentle formula, this mascara is fantastic for sensitive eyes. I can wear it all day without problems.

Gabriel Color Lipstick – Meritage

Intense, but wearable: That defines Gabriel Color’s Lipstick shades. The Meritage color is no exception. A rich, full-bodied wine shade, Meritage packs an elegant punch. It has no sheen, but is a cream finish that lends itself well to all ages.

Of all the lipsticks I’ve ever tried, Gabriel Color’s may be the longest lasting. Like the ZuZu Luxe lip palette, Gabriel Color Lipstick has a waxy texture. It just stays and stays and stays, with almost no feathering, even after eating. When applied with a lip brush and on top of lip pencils, even after a dinner of salad I did not need to reapply the lipstick. I’m extremely impressed with the wear of Gabriel Color’s Lipstick.

In addition, the color payoff is excellent. Even with pigmented lips, the color is remarkably true.

Gabriel Nail Polish – Fauno

Gotta be honest here… I rarely wear nail polish. I loathe doing the whole 9 yards of base, polish and top coat, then still seeing my nails chip on the second or third day. So much effort for so little gain. What’s even the point?

Thus why I rather reluctantly tried the nail polish. Without base or top coat. I figured it’d last a day. But on day 4, it finally chipped for the first time.

Consider me sold. Gabriel’s Nail Polish has unusually good wear for such a reasonably priced, natural nail polish. With a nice finish of it’s own, good coverage and quick surface dry time, this polish is such a breeze to use, even I would love to get a few more colors to wear.

Speaking of colors, the Fauno is a deep, warm shade of nude. It’s too dark and too warm for my skin tone, even though I am warm toned. I think it would look better on someone a little darker than me, and perhaps warmer. That said, there’s a ton of other colors in the same line to play with. So I plan on checking some of those out, ASAP.

All in all, Gabriel Cosmetics has created a reliable, useable, beautiful collection of products. Their price-point is accessible to anyone, their quality good and their colors appealing to anyone, no matter their taste.

And of course, best of all, you can get them in stores!

Find the store nearest you!

Or order online from their website, or Amazon.

Intensely Colorful, Out of This World Gluten Free Eyeshadows – Concrete Minerals

Something has been missing from the world of gluten free cosmetics.

Something that the bold and the young-at-heart deeply desire.

Something that has actually been on the Gluten Free Makeup List for a while, but I have not reviewed until now.

It’s not like we’re ungrateful. Having safe products is a gift that we never stop being delighted to receive. But sometimes, a girl just needs…

A stunning collection of outrageously brilliant, gluten free eyeshadows.

Your Color is Here

Looking to punch up your look? Something with high pigmentation and mouthwatering vividness? Concrete Minerals has you covered. Gluten free, vegan and cruelty free, this company packs the fun and the safety all in one. Concrete Minerals makes-

  • Shimmer eyeshadows
  • Matte eyeshadows
  • Lip tints
  • Eye primer

This review is about their shimmer mineral shadows. I got to try the colors in the graphic above, which are these colors:

  • Napalm– Burn-the-house-down fiery orange.
  • Ruse– Glowing, angelic gold
  • Temptress– A rich, dark teal that dances between the edges of green and blue.

Coloring and Pigmentation

This stuff is so intense, it’s dangerous. Seriously, no namby-pambying can happen when you’re using these products. You will get what you paid for. Thus if you’re not looking for oomph, don’t go here.

Concrete Minerals releases new colors on a fairly regular basis. They’re a bit slower to retire colors, but do it frequently enough to keep their selection fresh and up-to-date. Their colors are bold, in-your-face and vibrant.

Staying Power

On their own, Concrete Mineral’s shimmer shadow staying power is practically non-existent. I assume it’s the slippery texture not letting it stick to the soft skin of an eyelid. Thus you absolutely need an eyeshadow base.

Concrete Minerals has their own base, but I have not had the chance to try it. The one I use works fabulously, and it’s this one.

Do you have the guts to try it?

If you’re looking for a makeup adventure, look no further. Concrete Minerals has the brightest, loudest, intensest and flashiest color palette the world of gluten free cosmetics has ever seen.

Only one question remains: Will you tackle it?

Gluten Free Toothpaste you can Trust – Cleure

I get a lot of questions about gluten free toothpaste. And it’s no wonder! Who hasn’t at least once in their gluten free life realized that every single day, twice or even three times a day, you put something in your mouth that may or may not have gluten in it? This is a legitimate concern, especially considering that many mainstream toothpastes are processed in facilities with gluten in them. Even if the toothpaste doesn’t directly contain gluten, there is almost always a chance of cross-contamination somewhere. It’s therefore tough to find safely gluten free toothpaste.

Then suddenly gluten free toothpaste from a 100% gluten free company practically fell into my lap.

Cleure doesn’t test for gluten, but they use no gluten ingredients and their facilities are gluten free. Without testing, this is pretty much as safe as you can get.

Cleure’s gluten free toothpaste is designed to be gentle and effective, even on sensitive teeth.

Benefits:

  • With xylitol and baking soda.
  • Studies show benefits of xylitol include:
    – Helps prevent cavities by as much as 60%
    – Promotes the flow of saliva, therefore helps dry mouth
  • Benefits of baking soda include:
    – Helps neutralize harmful acids
    – Helps remove surface stains, resulting in a brighter smile
  • Formulated with dicalcium phosphate:
    – Studies report it helps tartar control
    – It is a gentle abrasive, and whitening agent
    – It functions with balancing calcium and phosphate levels
    – It helps remineralize areas of teeth that have been attacked by acid

Overall this gluten free toothpaste leaves a fantastic feel in my mouth. It never leaves an annoying reside lingering that requires multiple rinses to get rid of. My teeth feel clean and well scrubbed, but never so much that it leaves them feeling sensitive.

The flavors are interesting. I’ve used a few similar to them before, but gotta admit… Not so much the others.

Flavors:

  • Cinnamon
  • Cranberry
  • Lemon-Lime
  • Original- No-Flavor

Cinnamon

Cleure’s Gluten Free ToothpasteCleure’s Gluten Free Toothpaste (back of the tube) I’ve never before liked other cinnamon toothpastes before due to the commonly overpowering flavoring. However this toothpaste is not overpowering at all, nor does it leave a lingering taste long enough to get annoying. It’s pleasant, not spicy and slightly sweet.

Cranberry

Well it doesn’t really taste like cranberries to me… Kinda berry-ish but not a whole lot of flavor overall. The sweetish taste has more presence than the berry taste. Innocuous, sweet and not lingering.

Lemon-Lime

This flavor, in theory, sounds like a good choice. You know, citrus flavor = fresh? And while that’s true, I can’t say I personally care for it. The citrus flavor is very strong and just slightly bitter, in a citrus rind kinda way. It tends to linger in the mouth a lot longer than the other flavors too. Of course, this is coming from the gal who doesn’t like most lemon-lime candy either, and that’s what this reminds me of. It’s not bad! Just not my taste.

Original- No-Flavor

When they say “no flavor”, they aren’t kidding. This toothpaste has no taste, not even the slightly salty flavor of baking soda I was expecting. It leaves your mouth feeling fresh and well scrubbed with no aftertaste. At the end of the day, I think this one ended up being my favorite.

All in all, I’ve really enjoyed using these toothpastes. I’m a bit obsessed with a clean mouth feel, so these have hit the spot for me in all the right ways.

Gluten Free Liquid Foundation for Celebrities – Illuminaré

What’s your favorite confidence boosting makeup product? Is it mascara? Bold red lipstick? Bright blush? Well for me, it’s liquid foundation. I do love a bold lipstick, but nothing boosts my confidence like knowing my skin looks perfect. But finding the perfect gluten free liquid foundation has been nothing short of a challenge. I’ve tried some I like before- some of them very much so. But I hadn’t found one that made me say “Perfection has been reached”. Until now.

You have almost certainly heard of Illuminaré before. They are beloved by celebrities and makeup artists of every age and every style. I finally checked them out after seeing Emily Deschanel wearing it, but they have also recently been seen in Harper’s Bazaar and Fitness Magazine. Plus their foundation is being used in TV shows “Bones” and “Touch” (and Miss Touch-Fangurl here had a mini freakout over the latter). You can see some of their press appearances here.

It’s pretty rare for a company with clients like this to be safe for gluten sensitive. but illuminaré is.

I read somewhere that this is a natural makeup. Well, I don’t know a whole lot about natural makeup, but Illuminaré does use parabens in some of their products. Not in the foundation, I’m happy to say. But they are not an all natural brand. What they are is a mineral based brand. I was told by customer service that Illuminaré uses nothing that once was alive in any of their products. Therefore it’s both vegan and gluten free.

the question is: is this hype really true? is this really such an amazing brand? and is this really some gluten free liquid foundation to get excited over?
Well… Read on and find out.

Here’s what I got to try:

  • Liquid Foundation Sample Pack- Fantastic Finish, Extra Coverage, Ultimate All Day
  • Fast Application Sponge
  • Beyond Black Everlasting Eyeliner
  • All Day Mineral LipColor – Bliss

However, in this first part of the review I shall only review the three different liquid foundations and the application sponge. Stay tuned next week for the rest of the review!

Gluten free liquid foundation

There are three different finishes for the gluten free liquid foundation, however they all have the same colors.

Overall, I found the liquid foundations to be fantastic. I loved them. They cover well (especially the extra coverage), they stay all day long, wash off easily and best of all, look shockingly natural on the face.

However. Illuminare has perhaps one of the worst sets of shades I’ve ever seen. 5 total colors. The shades are not bad in and of themselves, but it’s simply not enough variation. I had to carefully blend the Porcelain and the Fair to get the right shade for me. It’s a bit annoying and I wish they would expand their color line. It especially stinks because this would mean I have to buy two tubes of foundation at once, causing me to hope I use it all before it goes bad. With as concentrated a formula as this is, I’m not sure I’d use it all in time. Then again, I use liquid foundation as a confidence booster, not a daily foundation. Perhaps if I used it more frequently, it wouldn’t be a problem to use up in time.

Now for the specific formulas:

Moisturizing (Fantastic Finish)

This has a gorgeous silky, dewy finish to it that leaves a fresh faced look. It’s moisturizing, but not overly so. The coverage is good, but I liked to use the extra coverage over anything I really needed to cover.

Concealing (Extra Coverage)

Of the three formulas, this is easily my favorite. Because I use liquid foundation when I truly need flawless skin, typically when I need coverage, I need coverage. And this gives it to me. It’s amazing. Powerful magic-like coverage while maintaining a naked appearance.

Mattifying (Ultimate All Day)

No joke on the mattifying! This cut down on any hint of shine and did away with the need to finish off with some sort of powder. The coverage is quite good, better than the Fantastic Finish, but not as heavy as the extra coverage.

Fast application sponge

Applying the liquid foundation flawlessly and yes, quickly, this sponge turned out to be a fun and easy way to put on the foundation. It really helps to blend the foundation and allows you quite a bit of control over how you put on. I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy the sponge this much, but I do. Fantastic tool to have in your kit.

Overall, I really enjoyed the Illuminaré’s gluten free liquid foundation, and of course the application pad. I’m deeply impressed at the quality, love love love the textures and coverage and love how gentle it is on my skin. If they were to add more colors to the line, I’d say it was pretty much a perfect foundation. As it is now, Illuminaré is close anyway.

This fulfills all those things I need in a liquid foundation to give me that boost of confidence.

Stay tuned for part 2 of the illuminaré review! Now that we’ve covered the gluten free liquid foundation (see what i did there?), we’ll move on to the lip color and to the everlasting cream eyeliner.

what is your favorite confidence boosting makeup?

10 Smashing Gluten Free Cosmetics Under $15

“Got any inexpensive gluten free foundation?”

“Do you know of any cheap eyeliners that won’t burn my eyes?”

“Where can I get reasonably priced lipstick that won’t make me sick!?”

Sound familiar?

I get questions similar to these a lot. But I got nearly the exact title of this post in my inbox the other day, posed as a question. And it hit me- Whyyyy haven’t I written a post about this yet!?

Because gluten free cosmetics are crazy expensive and it can be tough to get your hands on inexpensive products.

Therefore, consider this your guide to finding cheap gluten free cosmetics without sacrificing safety or quality!

#1: monave’s versatile mineral powder – $7.50

These are basically eyeshadows, however Monave points out that you can use colored mineral powders in so many more ways than just on your eyelids. Put it in clear lip gloss to color it up, use one as blush or bronzer, add it to clear nail polish to make your own nail polish shades or even to change the tint of an existing polish. The possibilities are endless and with prices like these, experimentation won’t break the bank.

#2: everyday mineral’s jojoba foundation – $14.99

I recommend this foundation all the time even when I’m not thinking about price. But if you’re on a budget, you’re doing yourself a disfavor by not trying it right now. With good coverage, a lovely finish and complete lack of cakiness, this foundation is one of my absolute favs. Like, ever.

#3: honeybee gardens’ mascara – $11.99

THIS is good stuff. It’s buildable, not clumpy and light feeling. It doesn’t give super oomph, but that’s part of the reason why it’s so light and gentle. The end result is very natural looking, with great definition and a silky look.

#4: monave’s eyeliner pencils – $11.50

Going on smoothly and lasting very well, these eyeliners are some of my absolute favs. They have tons of gorgeous colors, including ones that are difficult to find in the gluten free community. I wish I had every single color in my collection, but the ones that I do have are ones I go back to again and again.

#5: honeybee gardens’ lipstick – $10.37

Delicious moisturizing and pretty colors make this lipstick a great standby to have. It’s not a super long lasting lipstick, but it feels yummy on the lips and doesn’t fade so quickly that it’s a problem. Cruelty free and made with coconut oil and cocoa butter, these lipsticks are a treat to wear.

#6: honeybee gardens’ lip gloss – $8.65

More of a lip gloss gal? Snag a tube or two or three of this stuff! Their colors tend towards natural and can be worn by anyone. Using shea butter, cocoa butter and jojoba oil as emollients, this lip gloss will keep your lips hydrated and soft while making them shine.

#7: everyday minerals blush – $5.99-$10.99

With good pigmentation that isn’t overwhelming and a variety of shades from vibrant to soft, Everyday Minerals has a blush for anyone. All are affordable, but some are just downright cheap. The blushes I have from these folks are ones I use all the time.

#8: keeki’s pure and natural nail polish – $9.99

With a massive collection of adorable colors and an all natural and non-toxic formulation, Keeki’s nail polish has a little something for everyone.

(psssst- you can also snag an all natural and gluten free nail polish remover from them for $9.99!)

#9: buddha balm 4-pack – $12.57

These are some of my favorite balms of all time. I love the fun flavors, the moisturizing properties and the texture. The only downside, IMO, is that the flavor lasts and lasts and lasts. Which means that the balm is lasting on your lips, sure, but I end up wiping my mouth before meals because I don’t care for sweet lychee pomegranate with my stir fry.

#10: nelsons pure & clear face wash – $9.66

Not only is this a remarkably affordable face wash, Nelsons has the distinction of being one of the few face washes available that includes homeopathic remedies for acne right within the wash. However, whether or not you subscribe to homeopathy, this face wash is worth a try. It’s been a long time since I had any on hand, but even before I went gluten free this wash was one of my staples. Works good and it’s easy on the pocket book!

And that does it for now!

I hope you enjoyed the list! If you’ve tried any of these products before let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear about y’all’s experiences with them!

INCREDIABLE coverage from gluten-free loose mineral foundation – Beauté Minerals

The simplicity and natural nature of mineral cosmetics appeals to me. I love how light loose powders feel on the skin. I like how well they stay through the blazing, humid Texas heat. I like how earth-friendly they can be.

But it’s rare to find a mineral foundation with very good coverage. I’ve usually tried them, liked them, but set them aside mostly to use on top of liquid foundations so that I can get the coverage my acne-prone skin really needs. But now, I’m reaching for these loose mineral makeups again and again. Why? Because…

  • The coverage is everything I need on most days
  • It lasts all day
  • Is a fantastic color
  • Has the prettiest finish I’ve EVER seen for loose mineral makeup

Get ready…

Mineral Foundation

This is the best mineral foundation I’ve seen in a long time. EASILY the best in it’s price range. And perhaps the best ever.

The coverage is amazing. I tend to shy away from using mineral foundations on a regular basis because my skin is very acne-prone. There are a lot of imperfections, a lot of lumps and bumps and scars that I really just prefer to not be visible. I’ve used a lot of mineral foundations in the past because of how safe they are, but I’ve been disappointed and the overall coverage and the texture of the product after applying in such a way that it covers most of my imperfections.

But look at that coverage. Look how good my skin looks. You can still see some problem areas, so it’s not like a magic eraser. But it still incredibly good. Not sure I can say anything else that is as compelling as how good those pictures look.

Although I will say this- one of the many beauties of mineral foundation is how amazingly well it stays in heat and humidity. With no creams or oils to melt, it just stays on all day. It even stays looking amazing through a workout (tested and proven by my sweaty self).

Mineral blush

For a natural blush, this stuff is perfect. They have only a few colors of blush right now, but they are versatile and clean. The coverage is a bit sheer, so it’s easy to get a totally natural look out of it.

Mineral contouring powder

It’s so easy for contouring powder to be way too dark. I’ve used a lot of them that were just the wrong shade, or to pigmented, or something to make it difficult to use and anything less than an extreme editorial look. Not so with this contouring powder! It’s perfectly pigmented so you can definitely get a solid Shadow going. But it’s not so pigmented you’ll be fighting it the whole way. It’s blendable, buildable, and fantastic shade for a naturally contoured look. I have a round face, so I like giving myself some extra cheekbone and jawline definition. I often skip this if the day is just a casual looking one. It can be a little bit dramatic. But with this powder, you could contour everyday if you wanted.

Mineral finishing powder

This product claims to have an airbrush finish. Usually, when I hear claims like that, I am deeply suspicious. However this product truly lives up to the airbrush hype.

The foundation already has a pretty good finish on its own, but when you put this finishing powder on top of it, it has this incredible texture that I was not expecting. As you can see in the pictures above. I mean, look at that! So clean, so smooth, with such a velvet look to it. What’s more, even as my face sweats and oozes oil all day long here in the Texas Heat, my foundation continues to look amazing.

Not many foundations that can continue looking this good all day long. But with the foundation and the finishing powder, totally can. I’m using this finishing powder even on other foundations right now. It works just that good.

Mineral highlighter

And finally, the beautiful highlighter. There is so much highlight power in this stuff, it’s insane. Personally, I love an intense highlighter. I love to have plenty of building power and plenty of shine to give me that strobe look. I find that strangely hard to find in mineral makeup. But this is exactly what we’ve got here.

Since it’s a loose powder, you can put as much or as little as you need on. It’s not so much glittery, but there is a definite sheen to it. You can see the poppin’ highlight in the pictures above. Although on other days, I’ve done it more subtle and with less drama.

Again, I keep using this highlighter on days when I decide I do need more coverage than just a mineral foundation. Because the highlighter is just that good.

These products are so easy to use, beautiful and reasonably priced. If you’re looking for a fantastic, light-weight, stay-all-day mineral makeup, Beauté Minerals has got ‘ya covered. Thoroughly covered. 😉

Since YOU are a Gluten-Free Makeup Gal reader, I’ve got a special discount just for you. 😉 Get 15% off your very first order with Beauté Minerals using the code BEAUTEGAL. It’s already super reasonably priced, so what have ‘ya got to lose? Try my new favorite loose mineral foundation!

The Best Gluten-free Makeup in Stores

Once upon a time, finding gluten-free makeup in stores was impossible.

But the world has changed. New options abound. And now we’ve evolved to talk about two different levels of topical gluten sensitivity: Sensitive and Extremely Sensitive.

Brands and products for both of these categories are now available in stores. You might have to look a little harder for some of them. But they exist and you can find them. So let’s go!

Gluten-free makeup for extremely sensitive lovelies

Starting here, because everyone can use these companies. No matter how sensitive. No gluten ingredients, no cross-contamination. Clean, clean, clean.

Also, remember: Most gluten ingredients in makeup are ones with trace amounts of gluten. So these products might be cross-contaminated with ingredients with trace amounts of gluten. How willing you are to risk this is up to you. 😉

Which makeup brands will you be dashing out to try? 😉

Why You Need Retractable Gluten Free Lip Liners – Red Apple Lipstick

I’ll give ‘ya 3 reasons:

  1. They are tested gluten free
  2. They are beautiful
  3. They are awesome

That enough to convince ‘ya? Not really? OK, then here’s a more detailed reasoning. 😉

Y’all probably already know that I’m a huge Red Apple Lipstick fan. Their products are very high quality, their colors a wonderful blend of trendy and classic, and everything is lab tested gluten free.

I was already in love with their lip pencils and honestly didn’t think there was much to improve on! But RAL decided to try anyway and just released a brand new version:

Retractable Gluten Free Lip Pencils

So they’re gorgeous, right? Love the new colors!

But there’s just one problem with retractable lip pencils in general: They’re usually waxy, brittle and stiff. Even when I was little, I preferred regular crayons to retractable crayons, and as color for paper turned into color for eyes, my opinion remained the same. So the question is, does RAL’s retractable lip pencils follow the same old pattern of lameness?

In true Red Apple Lipstick form, NO they do not.
RAL’s new lip pencils are creamy, smooth, easy to apply, yet still freely moving in their cases.

With all this insane heat, it’s time to really pack on the SPF. It’s not terribly difficult to find gluten free sunscreen, but finding gluten free facial moisturizers with built-in SPF? Nearly impossible.

So I’ve gathered all the best gluten free SPF 15+ facial moisturizers I can find. Check ’em out!

Cleure Sunscreen SPF 15

A brand that focuses mostly on skincare, it’s hardly surprising that Cleure would tackle gluten free SPF facial moisturizers. It’s only SPF15, but in trade you get a lighter, less chalky finished look. It’s based in shea butter, so smoothing it on under your makeup is like putting on a deep moisturizing treatment.
